Swedish Election Debate in London Sunday 23 August

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Swedish Church in London, and to all eight parties and politicians who took part.

The event began with @swealondon sharing important information about how to vote from the UK:

If you live in or are visiting the UK, you can vote early at eight locations across the country. For exact addresses and opening hours, visit swedenabroad.se/rostaiuk.

Voting outside of Sweden, starts on 24 August and runs until 9 September

If you wish to vote on Election Day, 13 September, you can only do so in Sweden.

• Sweden Democrats – Mattias Karlsson, Member of Parliament
• Christian Democrats – Alice Teodorescu Måwe, Member of the European Parliament
• Moderate Party – Tomas Tobé, Member of the European Parliament
• Liberals – Fredrik Malm, Member of Parliament
• Centerpartiet – Rasmus Elfström, Förbundsordförande Centerstudenter
• Green Party – Jacob Risberg, Member of Parliament
• Social Democrats – Paula Carvalho, International Secretary
• Left Party – Vasiliki Tsouplaki, Member of Parliament

The debate began with a moment of silence for the victims of the incident at Brinellskolan in Fagersta, before moving on to some of the key issues affecting Swedes abroad, including voting rights and citizenship, public services, security and crime, migration and integration, as well as climate and energy.
