The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK is looking for a Communications Coordinator/ Manager.
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK is a not for profit membership organisation focusing on promoting trade between Sweden and the UK. The Chamber’s mission is to provide a platform for networking and to be a facilitator for business opportunities through its events, publications and other services. Today, the Chamber offers its members around 60 events per year. Within the network there are approximately 400 member organisations with an additional 250 individuals members of the Young Professionals. The Chamber has been dedicated to its members since 1906.
We are now looking to recruit a Communications Coordinator/ Manager.
As the Chamber’s Communications Coordinator/Manager you will be responsible for the Chamber’s communication – including its print and online collateral, PR, marketing and social media initiatives. You will focus on promoting the members and building the platform for business opportunities. As part of a small team, you will also be involved in event planning and membership recruitment. Your main tasks will include:
- Responsibility for marketing material and promotion and development of the Chamber’s activities and services
- Responsibility for all PR, including relations with the press
- Responsibility for editing and contributing written material to the Chamber’s many publications such as the bi-monthly magazine The LINK, Annual Report and Trade Directory
- Responsibility for the design and layout of all print and online initiatives; predominantly using InDesign and Photoshop
- Working closely with one intern in collaborating on all communication initiatives, as well as two yearly Scholars in helping promote the Young Professionals and The LINK
- Responsibility for all advertising sales and reaching a set target
- Managing the SCC website, including content generation and back end support
- Office administration; i.e. maintaining all relations with print suppliers, etc.
Ideally you have a background within communications, marketing, customer relations and sales with a proven track record. You will also enjoy working with people, with tight budgets and be at ease in public. You must be used to working towards short deadlines, be able to prioritise/multi-task and possess excellent communications skills, in English and in Swedish. You must be bi-lingual in Swedish and English and have a strong command of the English language. You will need to have flexible attitude to work as our events sometimes take place in the evenings or at weekends. The job also involves attending events organised by Member companies and occasional travel to the chapters within the UK and to Sweden. You will need to embrace the Chamber values and be an extrovert, service minded and have a positive attitude. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, InDesign and Photoshop is essential as is attention to detail.
You will work in a small organisation together with the Managing Director, Events Manager and the Membership Manager. There is also a part time Accountant and we also have the help of the Scholars and Interns.
