LondonSwedes Lucia Night 11th of December – with special performance by Cornelia Jakobs
LUCIA NIGHT
SUNDAY 11TH OF DECEMBER
In December, Lucia is honoured all over Sweden with candlelight processions that brighten the dark winter days. These spectacular events feature the chosen Lucia wearing a crown of lights, and girls and boys in white gowns in schools, at work, in town squares or churches. They sing festive songs and spread warmth in the community.
Lucia and her entourage have again made their way to London, where they will share the Christmas spirit with two events on the afternoon and evening of Sunday 11th December.
Special performance by Cornelia Jakobs
Every year, LondonSwedes invites a special guest to join the performance. In previous years we had the honour of hosting Måns Zelmerlöw, Miriam Bryant and Molly Hammar. We are now very excited to announce that Cornelia Jakobs will be the Special performance at this year’s Lucia event!
With the song “Hold Me Closer”, Cornelia won Melodifestivalen 2022 and represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin in May (viewed by 161 million people), where she finished 4th!
With over 60 million streams on Spotify on several million on YouTube, her song has topped the charts and won Best Song 2022 in Sweden by Musikförläggarnas price. We look forward to having Cornelia on stage at our Lucia Night!

VENUE
We are very excited to present this year’s incredible venue. On the 11th of December LondonSwedes invites guests to an afternoon and evening of festive songs and celebration at the historical and 450-year-old Harrow School. The festivities will take place in their iconic Speech Room with room for over 500 guests.
Harrow School, a full-boarding school and home to 880 boys aged 13-18, was founded in 1572 and is the oldest all-boys school still operating in the United Kingdom today. Located in a leafy 300-acre estate, the school was once home to Winston Churchill, amongst many other brilliant minds. The school encompasses much of Harrow on the Hill, in northwest London. From King’s Cross St. Pancras and Baker Street, the Metropolitan line takes 20-25 minutes to reach Harrow-on-the-Hill.
CHOIR AND PERFORMANCE
Our talented choir, 25 to be exact, are brilliant singers from all over Sweden (now LondonSwedes), and they have come together to share their Nordic Christmas joy and cheers for all, in and around London to enjoy. Every year, LondonSwedes invites a special guest to join the performance. In previous years we had the honour of hosting Måns Zelmerlöw, Miriam Bryant and Molly Hammar. Our special guest for this year is yet to be confirmed… keep an eye out on our channels.
CAFÉ, DRINKS AND FOOD
Besides the Glögg (mulled wine) and gingerbread that will be spreading a fragrant Christmas aroma throughout the historic building, we will serve traditional Swedish Fika, such as Lussebullar (saffron buns), Kanelbullar (cinnamon buns), “mackor”, and of course Swedish coffee. We will have a café and a bar on-site so come early to enjoy the treats and drinks with your friends.
TICKETS
We will offer an afternoon show at a lower ticket price to be able to accommodate families, kids and students.
For all adult tickets this year, we will need each guest’s name, email and phone number so make sure to have that prepared on the day of the ticket release. This is to make sure we can send relevant updates to every guest and not just to the person who purchased the ticket.
