To acknowledge and embrace Nordic theatre and actors, New Nordic Festival is showcasing the best Nordic plays from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands between 12 and 16 October. The five-day festival takes place at Jacksons Lane in London and consists of a play from each of the Nordic countries. Each play is led by a creative team of emerging directors, designers, and actors chosen for the festival.

The festival seeks to show the diversity, and exploring the different cultures, in the Nordic countries. The work is done by emerging theatre-makers from the UK, all exploring how the British scene can be influenced and enriched by Nordic culture. The festival includes shows about climate change, cows, loneliness, and IKEA, actually.  After each show, there will be a Q/A opportunity with the actors, as well as workshops, online talks, and discussions throughout the whole festival.

Since last year’s festival had to be canceled due to covid-19, this year’s festival will showcase the works that were intended to be performed last year.  Tickets can be purchased through this link, here.
