5k run in Victoria Park for the children of Cambodia
On Sunday 13 April, charity Bike 4 Cambodia is hosting a 5k run in Victoria Park, London. You don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to take part – everyone is welcome to hit the paths of one of London’s most scenic parks. The aim is to raise money for a new school for impoverished children in Cambodia.
Participants are encouraged to run in Cambodian colours red and blue. Free t-shirts and face painting will be available to all runners on the day.
Any money raised will go to straight to the charity’s new school project in in Pung Ror just outside Kampong Cham, Cambodia.

About Run 4 Cambodia
Run 4 Cambodia is an event hosted by the non-for-profit organisation Bike 4 Cambodia. www.bike4cambodia.com
The charity is the brainchild of London-based Swede Ola Nilsson, who following a holiday in Cambodia decided he wanted to help its children. Although rich in natural resources, decades of war and internal conflict have left Cambodia with social and economic scars. As a result, education suffers and dental care is reserved for the few.
The charity was kicked off in 2011 when Ola together with fellow Swedes Fredrik Olsson and Hakan Nilsson undertook a 6700km (4163.187 miles) bike ride across the USA from New York to San Fransisco. All funds raised went straight to building a new primary school in Tonlebet.
In recent years, Bike 4 Cambodia has built another school, given the children English lessons, funded a dental clinic and provided tooth brushing facilities.
Thanks to Bike 4 Cambodia, 1200 kids brush their teeth daily and are getting a better education – preparing them for a better life.
