My name is Abigail Thomas and I am an Occupational Psychology Master’s student at Goldsmiths, University of London. I am conducting research on the impact of organisational support on adjustment, health and work performance of expats from various countries.

This research is of great interest to me as I have lived most of my life as an expat with my family, and have experienced some of the many problems expats face throughout their transition to a new country. Although, as time has progressed, the transition has become a little easier, this may be attributed to the majority of countries benefiting from multi-cultural views. However, I believe organisations have the ability to make this transition even easier, and such research in the area will make this possible.
All the data collected in this study will be confidential and every participant has the right to withdraw at any point if they so wish to. I will be able to provide a questionnaire in due course for your approval. In addition to this, the project has been approved by the Goldsmiths’ Department of Psychology ethics committee.
